Though the younger of the two, United's new star was born in Rosario, Argentina - the same place as four-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi. Just over a year separates them, but Di Maria was a little slower in following Messi to Europe. The Barcelona forward was brought to Spain at the age of 13, while Di Maria made his way through the ranks at local club, Rosario Central. After impressing in the youth teams in Argentina's third largest city, Di Maria got his first team break at the age of 19.
