10 Things Roy Keane Wants You To Forget

9. His Debut For Celtic

Throughout his career, Roy Keane had regularly made it known that he was a huge Celtic fan and was hoping to one day finish his career at the Scottish giants. Keane would get his wish, signing for his boyhood team at the end of 2005 after a controversial exit from Old Trafford following one too many rows with officials, players and staff. So the big moment would come, Roy Keane€™s debut for his beloved team. Pretty special moment, right? In a career full of trophies and match-winning performances, Keane€™s Celtic bow would end in a 2-1 Scottish Cup third round defeat to First Division Clyde in January of 2006. Still, even though the game didn€™t go how Roy would€™ve envisaged it, his vocal, ferocious style was still to be seen, with him chastising various team-mates throughout the game. After finally getting to play for his boyhood team, his time in the famed green and white hoops would be short-lived. With injuries having taken their toll, Keane would call time on his career only six months after his Celtic debut, racking up 10 games and a solitary goal for the Celtic Park club.
