10 Things Steven Gerrard Wants Liverpool Fans To Forget
6. He Didn't Even Make It Into His Manger's All Time Premier League XI
Whenever he's quizzed by the press, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is lightning quick to say that he believes Steven Gerrard is at the very top of the pile of players to ever grace the Premier League. Best ever midfielder Brendan? Definitely. Best ever player Brendan? Probably. However a quick skim over the BBC's Match of the Day archive reveals that, deep down, he doesn't actually rate him that highly. A mere 5 weeks before he took the big job at Anfield, Brendan Rodgers was asked for his all time Premier League XI by Colin Murray, and went for the passing range of Paul Scholes and the "bite" of Roy Keane instead. No place for the man who, a year later, he would claim trumps them all. It wasn't just Gerrard though, as there was no place for Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler and, most remarkably of all, Andriy Voronin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVehzo2do-E
