Williams, the former caddie for Tiger Woods had spent many years on tour winning PGA tour events and major championships and had seldom, if ever, been asked for an interview. It is simply not the convention to interview the winners caddie after an event. So, when Adam Scott claimed his first Major title at the 2013 Masters in a playoff over previous champion Angel Cabrera, it was odd that the media chose to speak to Williams about the win. His comments reflected that he had preferred his time with Scott than with Woods and made several remarks of omission that were negative towards Woods and his career and personal life. Scott had emulated Woods swing and playing style for the better part of his early career and this seemed like a small blemish on his first Major victory. The Steve Williams interview will be a moment that all three parties involved will want to forget.
