10 Things We Learned From Doncaster Vs. Sunderland
3. Duncan Watmore Is Raw, But Needs Patience
Finally Sunderland fans got another glimpse of Duncan Watmore. The youngster has been making waves for the development squad, winning the U21's Premier League Player of the Year award. He only had a few minutes to demonstrate his potential, but the crowd received him well and willed him to do well. At first he looked nervous, running the ball out of play after a poor touch, but soon into his 10 minute cameo, he showed flashes of great pace and a sheer determination to run at the full back. He even put a couple of decent crosses into the box, but there wasn't enough time to judge him properly. He may not be ready quite yet, but hopefully Advocaat is very patient with him and nurtures the starlet into the first team picture. He could be a useful option from the bench. Think James McClean with a brain.
