9. Sergio Romero Ain’t A Patch On David De Gea

Although he was wrong-footed for the first goal, I felt that he could have got to it and made the save. There were a few instances during the game where the new signing from Argentina looked suspect. 

Its clear van Gaal needs a solution to the goalkeeping problem sooner rather than later. I may be being a little harsh on Sergio Romero, but all you need to do is take a look on Youtube to see he isn’t quite the stopper David de Gea has proved to be over the last few seasons. 

The situation the club now finds itself in is bordering on farcical, with de Gea and Valdes sat in the stands together; Valdes not even being allowed to wear the official club suit. Fans will be hoping Louis van Gaal knows what he is doing, but surely the way to get the biggest fee possible from Real Madrid isn’t to banish de Gea to the stands and not play him?
