10 Things We Learned From Newcastle vs Northampton

8. Cheick Tiote Can't Even Dictate A League Two Midfield

The holding midfielder used to dictate the centre of the field against first-class opposition but yesterday, Cheick Tiote didn€™t look comfortable against a plucky League Two outfit. Yes, he played some decent 40-yard spray passes to the advancing full-backs but it isn't his passing range that is the problem. The Ivorian struggled to set the pace of the game - like he used to do so well - and he looked uncomfortable on the ball despite playing against much weaker opposition. If Jack Colback or Vurnon Anita were to pick up an injury then Tiote's game will need to improve significantly and I'm not convinced that it's possible.
