10 Things We Learned From Sheffield United 2-2 Newcastle
9. NUFC's Communication Continues To Improve
In the last few weeks there has been an obvious attempt from Newcastle United to attempt to increase their communication with the Toon faithful. Periscope videos of training, extended interviews with players and the new "Magpies 24/7" behind-the-scenes documentary of the club - not to mention the regular emails from Steve McClaren himself to supporters - have displayed a real desire from Newcastle to re-engage with disillusioned fans. This was displayed further by the club's online article and email to supporters just 30 minutes before kick-off at Bramall Lane, confirming that Chancel Mbemba had all-but signed from Anderlecht. https://twitter.com/NUFC/status/625267422925357056 The defender was pictured flying into Tyneside on Thursday to complete his medical, while the club also confirmed that personal terms had been agreed with the player, and a fee sorted out with Anderlecht. However, with the transfer threatening to drag on until at least Thursday - with an FA hearing scheduled for then when the Magpies should hear if Mbemba is granted a work permit or not - Newcastle decided to inform fans of the current situation. Rather than allow this one to drag out and speculation to mount, NUFC have informed the supporters of exactly where they stand on this transfer - and that can only be a positive going forward... hopefully.
