10 Things You May Not Have Known About The Kansas City Royals

4. Children Are Groomed To Be Royals Fans From A Very Young Age

Still nicknamed "America's pastime," professional baseball - which is essentially Major League Baseball in the eyes of many fans - is known to embrace both traditional values and an overall family-friendly image. Hence why you can be thrown out of an MLB stadium for cursing mid-game, should a neighboring stadium attendee complain to an usher about your "unsportsman-like" attitude.

But the all-ages appeal of going to Kauffman Stadium is especially visible in the outfield area. Behind the waterfalls and Royals Hall Of Fame exhibit is a full-fledged child-friendly area which includes mini-golf, a carousel, a playground, a pitching mound, and a batting cage area. In other words, the Royals and Kauffman Stadium treat a home game like a day at the park where you don't "have" to watch the game if you feel like moving around.

Beyond the children's area, the stadium has the Blue Crew Kids Crew and each Sunday home game is billed as a Family FunDay Sunday. Following those FunDay Sunday outings, all kids 14 and under can run the bases on the field once.
