10 Things You May Not Have Known About The Kansas City Royals

2. The Royals Are Very Tied In With Top Comedians And Movie Stars

A lot of famous people hail from the greater Kansas City, Missouri area. This includes Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Eric Stonestreet, and David Koechner. Under the "Big Slick" moniker, that core of film and television notables - all with KC roots - put together the inaugural Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in 2010 to raise money for Children's Mercy Hospital. Will Ferrell, director/writer Adam McKay, Bobby Cannavale, George Wendt and Will Forte were also among the famous participants.

The Big Slick continues to reign annually in Kansas City and this year's Big Slick Celebrity Classic Game at Kauffman Stadium featured Rudd, Sudeikis, Stonestreet, Koechner, Riggle and other celebrities playing softball on the field before the Royals battled the Chicago White Sox. The Big Slick's various events over the past 9 years have raised close to $10 million.

Big Slick aside, Rudd was notably part of the Kansas City Royals' celebrations when they won the World Series in 2015 over the Mets.
