10 Top Players Entering The Final Year Of Their Contracts
2. Thibaut Courtois (Chelsea)
This summer, a whole lot of transfer rumours and speculation have been focused on goalkeepers. With some of the best shot-stoppers in the world reaching the ends of their contracts and lots of big clubs looking for a new number one, Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois is one of the most wanted players in Europe right now.
Signed by Chelsea back in 2011, Courtois spent a few years on loan with Atlético Madrid before actually making the move to the Premier League. He played his first game for the London club in 2014, going on to win the Premier League and League Cup in his first season and becoming one of the country's best goalies.
The Belgian's Golden Glove winning performances at the World Cup inflated his stock further and Real Madrid are said to be very keen on the 26-year-old, especially after their other big target, Alisson, sealed a deal to Liverpool. Goal.com has reported that Courtois could move to Madrid for the fee of £35 million, but Chelsea could struggle to find a fitting replacement.
