The man that everyone loves to hate, Spain's Sergio Ramos is no stranger to controversy, having recently been accused of foul play in the Champions League final game with Liverpool, but few arguments can be made against the 32-year-old's defensive prowess.

Current captain of both Real Madrid and Spain, Ramos has put together an astonishing haul of trophies over the course of his career, having won countless cups, championships, and individual awards. Time and time again, he's been classed as one of the best defenders ever and played big parts in Spain's successes at Euro 2008, the 2010 World Cup, and Euro 2012.

As well as his defensive skills and leadership qualities, part of what sets Ramos apart is his goalscoring ability. He has consistently been one of the top scoring defenders in Europe and contributed 5 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid in their latest season. For Spain, he's scored 13 times in 151 games, but is yet to find the net at a big competition and could be hoping to score an important goal this summer.
