Burnley’s players have worked unbelievably hard for the cause this season and George Boyd is the pick of them.

The former Hull City man is statistically the hardest working player in the Premier League. He has averaged an incredible 12058 metres per game and also boasts the second most tackles in the league this season, with 111 to his name.

Add to those statistics the fact that Boyd’s scored five and assisted two, and it becomes apparent just how undervalued his contributions are. Now that Burnley have been relegated, there might be a few clubs sniffing around Boyd. After all, hardworking players are often few and far between in the modern game.

Football isn’t all about running, but it can certainly help to have a player prepared to unselfishly clock up the miles.
