10 Ways To Reinvent The Ultimate Fighter TV Show

8. Host A One-Night TUF Tournament

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuzImQo7cdg Unlikely, right? Who holds one-night tournaments these days, outside of maybe Eastern Europe? Well, Battlegrounds MMA has announced Battlegrounds O.N.E. (One Night Elimination) and will hold it this coming October. A one night welterweight tournament, O.N.E. will feature Dennis Hallman, Brock Larson, Cody McKenzie, David Mitchell and others. While not top-calibre talent, those are still recognizable names who have paid their dues and fought in the UFC and other organizations. In other words, decent fighters who can put on entertaining bouts. The fact that a regional promotion can attract solid names to a tournament like this tells you that it can be done, and there's no question that from a logistics standpoint, the UFC has the ability to do it. So how about this: Expand the entry fights to get on TUF into a tournament format. Or, how about a four-man, one night finale? Maybe it's a gimmick, but an awful lot of fans miss the old one-night tourneys. And of course, it's how things started out back at UFC 1.
