10 Ways To Reinvent The Ultimate Fighter TV Show

7. Ditch The Drama

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQqRlKo3WgI Let me Bang, Bro! If you remember season 16 of the Ultimate Fighter at all - and no one will blame you if you don't - it's probably for the quote above if anything. To be fair, the season produced one of the dullest champions to date, Colton Smith, who hasn't won a fight since winning the show back in 2012, and had little else going for it (even the coaches fight was cancelled), so there wasn't a lot of competition for memorable moments. "Let me Bang, Bro" was uttered by Team Nelson member Julian Lane, better known for his hair than his fighting prowess, and was the culmination of childish drama and in-house antics. You can view a clip of the confrontation above. While it remains one of the few memorable moments of the season, and wound up as an internet meme, it's that sort of Big Brother stupidity that has left viewers with a bad taste in their mouths. Yes, TUF is a reality show, but one that needs to put the fights first. There's enough drama leading up to locking two men in a cage to beat each other senseless; are high school antics really necessary? Some of this can be blamed on the contestants themselves, and recent seasons have toned it down, but the show still hasn't dropped the stigma events like this brought upon it.
