The final of the three future England internationals according to Mourinho, Lewis Baker is the sort of player who will surely have the world at his feet as long as he doesn't get too caught up in his own hype. Outrageously versatile and gifted, Baker formed a sensational partnership with Ruben Loftus-Cheek at youth level last season, with him providing the grace as Loftus-Cheek provided the graft. It may seem a drastic exaggeration to call him heir to Lampard's throne, yet such are his gifts that such praise feels quite realistic on all available evidence. At 19 years old, he's coming into his own and nailing down exactly the sort of player he's going to be in the future. He made his debut for Mourinho's side last season in the final minutes of an FA Cup tie against Derby and since we can be fairly sure he's going to remain with Chelsea this season rather than heading out on loan, further appearances could well be on the way. He assisted no fewer than three goals in a pre-season game against AFC Wimbledon and was a regular goalscorer from midfield last season, making the kind of expertly timed forward runs that Chelsea fans have come to know from the work of a club legend who sadly departed this summer. That mix of creativity and goalscoring leads to some truly marvellous finishes, as proven by this Zola-esque finish for the U21 side against Arsenal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-U-ayMx_XI Also an expert from set-pieces, Baker looks in prime position to take over the 27-year old Cesc Fabregas' role in the team in a few years time. Alongside Fulham's Patrick Roberts and Derby's Will Hughes, he's one of the best young English talents around and if Chelsea manage him correctly, could prove a world beater at club and international level alike. Which of these players do you think will be the most successful in Chelsea's future? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
