The archetypical journeyman defender, Tramezzani had never spent more than a full season at a club before leaving Piacenza for Spurs for £1.5 million in 1998. Technically proficient, but unable to cope with the hectic pace of the English game, Tramezzani picked up an injury early on and never got a look in after that. A Christian Gross signing, the writing was on the wall for the defender when Gross replacement George Graham took over. Tramezzani wanted to be treated for his injury in Italy, Graham disagreed and ordered him to stay in London. In all, Tramezzani managed a meagre 7 games in 2 years for Spurs, before being released and joining Pistoiese.
