After his passing, Espanyol retired his number 21 shirt. Spain players Cesc Fabregas and Andres Iniesta both marked his passing by wearing t-shirts dedicated to him after winning the World Cup in 2010 and Euro 2012.

Isco

Isco was the star man last season as Malaga reached the quarter-final of the Champions League for the first time. He will pocket Malaga a reported £23 million after he has agreed a five-year contract with Real Madrid. This is despite the fact Isco had described himself as an €˜antimadridista€™. In an interview from 2009, recently unearthed by newspaper the Catalan Deportivo Mundo, he said: €œI'd say I'm a bit antimadridista although I do not know where my future will be, but it's a team that I never liked. €œI get the impression that it is an arrogant club, about how the players are. Without humility you cannot get anywhere.€

His death came just two weeks after he had finished the Championship season with Swansea. His shirt number, 40, was then retired by the Welsh club. After Swansea gained promotion to the Premier League a year later, the whole team wore t-shirts in tribute to the Austrian striker. My team includes a couple of bizarre cases, lots of legends and a few tragic cases. The team is certainly top-heavy with attacking talent. Flair players and goal scorers are often remembered and worshipped the most hence why they have their shirt numbers retired more often. One thing is for sure, that team would score a lot of goals.
