Spurs are notoriously poor in the Premier League following Europa League games - but they're going to have to endure several more of those post-Europa League matches this season, now that they're in the group stage. Moreover, it's a group they should definitely get out of, so there will be even more matches after that. Plus, with a Champions League place available to the winners of the competition this year, Mauricio Pochettino is more likely to field a stronger team against the better teams in the competition, meaning less and less players will be rested as the tournament progresses. Spurs are also still in the Capital One Cup and their FA Cup campaign is yet to even start, so there is every chance that the club could be participating in four competitions for a large chunk of the season. That would undoubtedly be harmful to their top four hopes.
