Ranking Sunderland's Signings Of 2014/15 From Worst To Best
6. Anthony Reveillere - Free Agent
Perhaps the most underrated signing of Sunderland's season Anthony Reveillere brought poise and experience to a team often in danger of totally losing their heads. The highly decorated Frenchman spent ten years at Lyon, winning a boatload of league and cup trophies in the process, but seemed a dangerous risk to take at the age of 35. Remarkably, he never appeared to break sweat in a Sunderland shirt, making the game look easy with a series of confident displays at both full back positions. Although incapable of making the overlapping runs of fellow signings Billy Jones and Patrick van Aanholt, he was perhaps the Black Cats' most trustworthy defender. Injuries (and a need for greater attacking impetus) meant that Reveillere became a rarely-seen figure for much of the second half of the season, but his cultured contributions shouldn't be overlooked.
