11 Surprising Stats From Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle United

4.1% - Possession Enjoyed By Georginio Wijnaldum, More Than Any Other NUFC Outfield Player

With Manchester United having enjoyed two-thirds of the possession at Old Trafford, it is unsurprising that the five players who held on to the ball for the longest all wore red. Juan Mata led the way with a mammoth 8.9% of the possession, while Morgan Schneiderlin (7.8%), Daley Blind (7.0%), Memphis (6.2%) and Bastian Schweinsteiger (5.7%) all enjoyed significant time on the ball. In terms of how much time Newcastle players were on the ball, goalkeeper Tim Krul held it for the longest with 4.8% possession. It was Georginio Wijnaldum, the Magpies' No 10, who led the way in the outfield though, holding on to possession for 4.1% of the time the ball was in play at Old Trafford. Jack Colback (3.8%) enjoyed the second-most possession, while Ayoze Perez (3.2%) and Chancel Mbemba (3.2%) were joint-third for NUFC.
