EVERYTHING went through Vurnon Anita on Friday night. The little midfielder played a deep role and was constantly receiving the ball from the defenders to start attacks. Much has been made of how both Alan Pardew and John Carver's style of play didn't get the best out of the former Ajax man, but it now looks like Steve McClaren's brand will featured Anita at its heart. It looks like he'll be one of those 'recyclers' charged with keeping the ball moving as much as possible. If he can't flourish under this regime, it seems he will only have one person to blame.
