There's no doubt Newcastle still need recruits - and defensive ones at that. The rumours seem to be strongest concerning Marseille winger Florian Thauvin, however, and McClaren confirmed that he is still looking for "new players", but only if they are the "right ones". Speaking to The Northern Echo after the York loss, McClaren said:
"I am always looking for new players, but they have to be the right players. "These players here I am delighted with their attitudes."
Let's hope this is not just bravado from McClaren and that further additions are close to being acquired - because Newcastle's defence is woeful, and getting no better...
