11 Ugliest Football Kits For The 2015-16 Season

Another shirt launch, another carefully-constructed promotional slogan.

"Divided we are weak, United we are strong" claims the Newcastle United promotions team. Hang on. Is Yoda in charge at St James's Park? No, it's just Steve McLaren.

English football's new managerial journeyman will watch his team play in diamonds this season. Not the formation, the pattern.

Designers Puma say their Swerve Teamwear template being used by the Geordie club for the new away kit (and all Puma clubs for the 2015-16 season) is a nod to the 90s which are quickly becoming the halcyon days of football. Newcastle may have won nothing during the decade that fashion forgot but they were everybody's favourite underdogs who pushed Man United all the way under the sheer spirit of Kevin Keegan.

It's just a shame that this offering is so... Uninspiring. The 90s were also famous for TV gameshow The Crystal Maze and this light grey diamond design is every bit as puzzling.

If it's not the shirt that helps Newcastle United to a few more away wins this season the fans will be hoping that diamonds aren't forever.
