Michael Laudrup has been touted by many pundits as a good choice for Newcastle, although there are some negatives against the former Dutch attacking-midfielder's name. Having managed clubs including Brondby, Getafe, Spartak Moscow and Mallorca before arriving at Swansea City in 2012, Laudrup had a mixed record. In South Wales he immediately succeeded, however, and led Swansea City to the League Cup in 2013 - the first major trophy in the club's history. Yet just eight months later he was sacked following accusations that he had "lost interest" and was rarely even in Wales, instead taking mini-breaks elsewhere. Having joined Qatari club Lekhwiya last year, Laudrup has been successful - winning two trophies - but there are still question marks surrounding his desire to succeed in management over a long period. The 50-year-old would bring organisation and a definitive playing style, but he may just be a short-term fix. It depends if the Magpies are looking for someone longer term or not.
