12 Candidates To Become Newcastle Head Coach

8. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

Age: 43 Nationality: Dutch Clubs Managed: Royal Antwerp (2013-14), Burton Albion (2014-) Managerial Honours: 2014-15 League Two Champion (Burton Albion)
Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is the very-latest name believed to be in the running for the Magpies job - and he would be an intriguing candidate. Hasselbaink has been making positive strides in management in recent seasons, first with Royal Antwerp in Belgium, and then with Burton - and Newcastle are now believed to be casting lustful glances in his direction. Having signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Brewers in November, he led the club from sixth in the table when he took over to a glorious promotion. Burton finished top of the League Two table on 94 points, five clear of their nearest rivals Shrewsbury Town, and will play in the third tier of English football next season. The former forward, who scored nine goals in 23 international appearances for Holland, has stated his ambition to manage at a higher level - and Newcastle may just be willing to take a gamble on him. This would be the biggest risk of all the names on this list (except the man currently at the helm), but Hasselbaink is young and ambitious - and who knows what he could achieve if he is given the scope to manage the club as he pleases?
