12 Newcastle Successes (And 12 Failures) Scouted By Graham Carr
5. Kevin Mbabu
Signed: 2013 (from Servette) Transfer Fee: £1 million Position: Centre-Back/Defensive-Midfielder Newcastle United Appearances: 0 (2013-) Newcastle United Goals: 0 Current Club: Newcastle United (but he spent four months on loan at Rangers in 2015) Signed for £1 million following a successful trial in January 2013, the versatile Mbabu is yet to make a single first-team appearance for Newcastle. The former Swiss Under-19 international, who can play at centre-back or defensive-midfield, was rated extremely highly by the Newcastle coaching staff and Carr, yet he has failed to make the grade. Another player sent out on loan to Rangers in January, Mbabu also failed to make an appearance for the Scottish side. Mbabu will likely leave Newcastle on a free transfer some time in the not-too-distant future, having already been added to the list of unknowns signed by Carr who turned out to be flops. Signing Rating: 1
