This is a pretty huge point that not a lot of people aren’t taking a step back to consider.

In this particular matchup, it is a matter of Manny Pacquiao making major adjustments to his game as opposed to Floyd Mayweather making significant adjustments to his.

Aside from the type of sparring partners Floyd uses during training camp, his goal is pretty much always the same: Get himself into peak physical condition for the fight.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s camp has been devoted to trying to crack what Floyd calls “The May-Vinci Code.” Floyd probably has a few ideas in mind, but he will make the necessary adjustments when the time calls for it. He doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel.

If Pacquiao’s initial strategy doesn’t work, then he will have to resort to Plan B. If that doesn’t work, then there might be a Plan C. Either way, Manny Pacquiao isn’t going to be able to do the same things he always does when he is in there with Mayweather. If he does, he will get tuned up all night with counterpunches and straight right hands.

Yet you should still expect to see the same defense-minded Mayweather who picks his spots to bank rounds.
