2. Indianapolis Colts
Players to Watch: Andrew Luck, Ahmad Bradshaw, Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton, Coby Fleener, Vontae Davis, Antoine Bethea Are we witnessing the reincarnation of the still alive Peyton Manning? If so, that's kind of strange... At any rate, Andrew Luck didn't shock audiences with his performance last year, but he still did the unthinkable: led his team to the playoffs, a feat not even the Colts expected. Well, after much torment in choosing the final two teams to represent the AFC in the playoffs, I have to say the Colts will do it again. Andrew Luck proved how accurate he can be, and only has room to improve, which is terrifying for opposing defenses. Adding Ahmad Bradshaw--acquired from the Giants--into the equation, the Colts already have a more solid team. Bradshaw should provide a running game they desperately needed last year. Luck was forced to throw too many passes, thus forcing unnecessary mistakes. Cutting down on those passes this year should, in essence, mitigate the potential for forced mistakes. Also, look for Luck's old college roommate to perform much more impressively this year. Coby Fleener could and should be a goal-line threat with his tremendous size, hands, and overall athletic ability. Defensively, the Colts have some voids to fill. They need a shutdown linebacker, and they need another shutdown safety. But, looking at who they have in Vontae Davis, they should be able to stop the deep pass and try to force teams to beat them on the ground (their current achilles heel). Expect the Colts to finish 10-6 and fifth in the AFC.
