12 Teams That Will Make The NFL Playoffs This Year And Why

6. Denver Broncos

peyton-manning-broncosPlayers to Watch: Peyton Manning, Montee Ball, Wes Welker, Demaryius Thomas, Von Miller, Champ Bailey Last year's season ended in heartbreak for the Broncos, who almost assuredly secured a spot in the AFC championship before being stunned by horrible coverage and late-game heroics by the Ravens. This year, expect them to not only be a better team because of new additions, but also because of Manning's unrivaled talent and insatiable hunger for a second ring. Manning shocked many last year with the way he came back and performed after missing an entire season due to a serious neck injury. Now that he has had an even longer time to heal, expect the same, if not better from Peyton. Further, the addition of Wes Welker is absolutely pivotal to their passing game. Between Welker, Decker, Thomas, and rookie running back Montee Ball (Wisconsin), the Broncos' offense may be impossible to stop in the upcoming season. Expect Von Miller to step up (assuming his suspension is lifted) and lead the young LB core. Also expect Champ Bailey to do what he has done for years: shut down the best receivers in the game. If all goes as planned for Denver, they should finish 13-3 and first in the AFC.

Hello there! I'm a graduate of FGCU (A.K.A. Dunk City!) I'm currently working on an M.A. in English Literature at Hofstra University. I'd like to eventually pursue either a M.S. in Business Administration or a Ph.D in Old English and Medieval Literature. I do thoroughly enjoy studying Old English for some mysterious reason. In my spare time, I try to keep up with well over a dozen television shows simultaneously, I frequent the local theaters, and I am an avid sports or FPS video gamer. Some of my favorite TV shows include: Dexter, The Office, X-Files, Homeland, and The Sopranos. Some of my favorite films include: The Usual Suspects, Donnie Darko, American Beauty, Fight Club, and Goodfellas.
