14 Biggest Premier League Transfer Mistakes Of Summer So Far
4. Michu - Swansea To Napoli (Loan)
In one of this summer's most surprising transfers, Swansea City decided to loan out Michu to Napoli. The move is perplexing for a number of reasons, the obvious one being that just a season ago the Spaniard was named the Welsh club's Player of the Year, as well as the supporters Player of the Year after scoring 18 Premier League goals. His loan is also mad because the Swans are scarcely blessed with an embarrassment of attacking options at the moment, with Wilfried Bony and new signing Bafetimbi Gomis the club's only remaining senior strikers. Rookie Rory Donnelly has been loaned to Coventry City while Marvin Emnes didn't play a single league game last season. There are also fears Bony could leave, with the Ivory Coast international being linked with moves to either Liverpool or Spurs, and that would make the loaning of Michu look even more bizarre, even if the forward did suffer a disappointing and injury-stricken second season at Liberty Stadium in 2013-14.
