14 Biggest Premier League Transfer Mistakes Of Summer So Far
3. Michel Vorm - Swansea To Spurs
Another bizarre transfer involving Swansea City this summer was the sale of Michel Vorm to Spurs. The Swans decided they no longer needed the Netherlands goalkeeper having signed ukasz Fabiaski from Arsenal despite Vorm making 26 Premier League appearances last season as their No.1. Vorm moved to White Hart Lane alongside Swans teammate Ben Davies on 23 July with Tottenham's Gylfi Sigurdsson moving the other way but you have to wonder why the Lilywhites felt they needed another goalkeeper. Manager Mauricio Pochettino already has Brad Friedel as cover for No.1 Hugo Lloris and Vorm will almost certainly be third choice this season. Had he continued at Swansea he might have been able to continue vying for the No.1 spot despite the arrival of Fabianski and his decision to join Spurs will surely prove a mistake, with a season of playing as a squad member now beckoning the Holland keeper.
