9. West Brom 3-0 Liverpool - 2012
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5iDkgBIw5Y It's fair to say there were slight murmurings of discontent amongst certain sections of the Liverpool faithful when Brendan Rodgers was assigned to the job in the summer of 2012. Following an abject opening day extermination at the Hawthorns, the former Swansea coach had done little to dispel such negativity. While it's true that only five points had separated the sides the previous season, a club of Liverpool's season and quality should never be on the receiving end of a three goal spanking from a side destined for relegation dogfights more often than not. With a wondrous Zoltan Gera volley and a Romelu Lukaku strike sandwiching a penalty from Peter Odemwingie, it certainly moved a dark cloud over Rodgers' start to his Merseyside reign. For Steve Clarke, on the other hand, it was a wondrous start to his Baggies beginnings, as well as getting one over on his former employers. Having laid the foundations with that great display against the five-time European champions, West Brom would go on to achieve a commendable eighth position in the league.
