David Silva earned himself a bumper new contract at Manchester City earlier this month following another highly-impressive season at Etihad Stadium. Silva scored seven Premier League goals and provided nine assists as he helped the Citizens win their second league title in three years and as a result was handed a fresh deal worth £200,000-a-week. Silva moved from Valencia in a £24 million deal four years ago and since then has become one of City's key players, becoming a persistent mainstay in their starting XI and winning two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the Capital One Cup, and recently set his sights on winning the Champions League before his new contract is done. There's no reason why he shouldn't be able to achieve that the way the Citizens are progressing, with the Manchester club emerging as one of European football's biggest powerhouses in recent years. Should Silva inspire his club to their first ever Champions League crown, his £200,000-a-week would look like peanuts.
