From: Atletico Madrid To: Manchester United Fee: £17 million (Source: The Guardian) Also potentially antoher controversial entry given his young age and his relatively brief time at Manchester United so far, however I still feel that despite his abilities, David De Gea has not quite shown Sir Alex Ferguson his worth at the club as of yet. The £17 million price tag that came with De Gea was seen by many fans as too much money for a goalkeeper with such little experience, and these scepticisms from the fans have been proved precise. Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul, cost the club a grand total of £0 and he has been twice the goalkeeper than the £17 million David De Gea, who regularly makes the ball look like a bar of soap. From set pieces, he genuinely looks like a chicken learning to fly. He's that bad. True he is a decent shot stopper, but to be a top quality goalkeeper you need all the attributes in your armoury, which sadly De Gea doesn't yet possess. He does however, possess the unwanted attribute of a "howler" or two. Or three. Or four. His two years at the club have been plagued with schoolboy goalkeeping blunders worthy of a Sunday League goalkeeper.
