9. Knowing You Can Do a Better Job At The Magpies Than Pardew... And Proving It By Using Football Manager

While Cabaye was enjoying some down time away with the France squad ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, he decided to play a bit of Football Manager - and then tease Magpies fans by showing off his own Newcastle United team selection. Cabaye tweeted a photo of himself and his team selection - which included Hatem Ben Arfa, who was marginalised by Alan Pardew towards the end of the 2013-14 campaign. The Frenchman's team saw Rob Elliot feature in goal and a defence of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Massadio Haidara, Mathieu Debuchy and Fabricio Coloccini. In midfield, Vurnon Anita and Gael Bigirimana were selected behind Ben Arfa, Yoan Gouffran and Cabaye's only signing, Bruma - with Loic Remy upfront by himself. How Magpies supporters would love to see that team run out in the black-and-white stripes right about now...
