20 Most Important Players In The Premier League 2014/15
13. Anthony Knockaert
As Nigel Pearson's side walked to the Championship league title last season, the young Frenchman provided some much-needed flair, pace and invention. Three things which are useful whether you ply your trade in the lower leagues or among the elite. After representing his country at youth level, the winger will be keen to kick on in the Premier League in order to prove his pedigree. Chipping in eight goals on the way to promotion, Knockaert will have his sights set on a similar record in the English top flight, though his primary duty will be to give the ammunition to latest striker Leonardo Ulloa. The former Brighton man is a physically imposing presence, with Pearson's wingers presumably the key players to fuel the Argentine's thirst for goals. When breaking, as it is pragmatic to assume that a newly promoted side will be on the back foot when away from home, Knockaert's pace will be a real asset, with the likes of the young Frenchman and Lloyd Dyer acting as useful outlets to bring the Foxes upfield. Though he may have amassed a reasonable goalscoring total en route to the Premier League, the 22-year-old will be a flamboyant member of a hard-working supporting cast. A good season for Leicester will presumably have to come hand-in-hand with sprinklings of brilliance from the former Guingamp youngster.
