20 Players Rangers Must Regret Signing

13. Filip Šebo

At least the Norwegian striker featured in the previous entry didn't command a transfer fee for a return of just 2 goals, but the Czech Filip Šebo sure did. Signed for £2 million from Austria Vienna, the forward came with a good number of goals to his name, having been the top scorer for many clubs he played for before moving to Austria. Only 6 hit the back of the net during that single-season spell in Vienna however, but Paul Le Guen obviously still felt he could make a big impact at Ibrox, which is why the initial £1.85 million price was paid in 2006, eventually rising right up to £2 million after a certain number of appearances. In 24 games, the short and stocky Šebo would only score twice, but he did at least make a connection with the Ibrox faithful, who could see that he was trying his best. Filip Šebo isn't on this list because of any lack of effort, he simply didn't have the goods to deliver on his price tag, and was seemingly doomed to failure at Rangers. Remarkably, he still follows the club to this day, and chants of his name can still be heard around Ibrox Stadium whenever a player fires the ball high over the crossbar!
