The 2014/15 season saw Arsenal finish above fierce local rivals Tottenham Hotspur for a 20th straight Premier League season to once again underline their place as north London's top club.

Spurs fans haven’t tasted much joy in recent years, either in terms of the rivalry or their general status. In fact, the White Hart Lane club have become somewhat of a laughing stock following their continued failure to secure a return to Champions League football despite a multiple big money signings and several changes of manager.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to thrive as a business and move forward as a team.

This is one of Europe’s biggest rivalries but, in truth, it hasn’t been a close one for some time. The Gunners are far and away the bigger club and better team. Tottenham on the other hand have had to settle for sitting in Arsenal’s far more illustrious shadow.

It doesn’t look as though the power balance of this rivalry will be changing any time soon. If anything the gap only looks set to widen over the coming seasons both on and off the pitch.

Here are just 20 reasons why fans of the White Hart Lane club must be jealous of North London’s red half.

Both halves of North London made the short trip to Wembley for a final appearance in 2014/15, but only one of them enjoyed their big day out.

The Gunners, who had already beaten Reading at the home of football en route to the final, absolutely battered Aston Villa to clinch a second successive FA Cup triumph. Better still, their 4-0 win left former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood casting a desperate figure throughout most of a torturous 90 minutes.

Conversely, Tottenham fell to rivals Chelsea in this season’s Capital One Cup final as goals from John Terry and Diego Costa sealed a comfortable win for the eventual Premier League champions.

Spurs supporters took great pleasure in mocking the Gunners for a nine-year barren spell. However, it’s now been seven years since a trophy was last brought back to White Hart Lane. In truth, that doesn’t look like ending anytime soon.
