25 Worst Premier League Signings Ever

15. Francis Jeffers

A rare example of Arsene Wenger investing in English talent in his early years at Arsenal (something he'd relax on later into his tenure), Francis Jeffers was being touted as the next big thing at Everton, making his debut at sixteen, and put in a half decent couple of seasons before Wenger came calling, and famously dubbed his crafty new £8m signing a €œfox in the box€.

Unfortunately, Arsenal would have probably benefited more from having an ACTUAL fox in their box. Dogged by injuries throughout his Highbury career, and forced out of the side by the exceptional form of one Thierry Henry, his career went into a nosedive.

His return of four goals from twenty two appearances was just not enough to cut the mustard in North London, and he was loaned back to Everton, before embarking on a journeyman career until retiring in 2014.
