25 Worst Premier League Signings Ever

14. Roque Junior

On paper it sounded so blissfully unreal to Leeds fans; a World Cup and Champions League winning defender was arriving on a season long loan from Italian giants AC Milan to help a struggling side fend of relegation and financial meltdown. There was a genuine buzz in the air when Roque Junior made his first appearance in a Leeds shirt; and that's about where the excitement ended.

Thrown into his first game, sent off on his home debut, Roque Junior never adapted to the pace and style of the English game. A defender who was supposed to be preventing the goals going in managed to allow twenty four goals slip past him in his seven appearances.

Out of his depth, and constantly bewildered, managerial changes at Elland Road meant that Leeds fans were spared an entire season with the Brazillian defender protecting the goal.
