25 Worst Premier League Signings Ever
10. Sergei Rebrov

At the time of his purchase in 2000, Sergei Rebrov was carrying a stellar reputation as one of Europe's finest attacking talents. As a foil to Andriy Shevchenko at Dynamo Kiev, he clocked up an impressive scoring rate which earned his move to White Hart Lane for £11m; a ludicrously large sum of money at the time for a team in Tottenham's position to be parting with.
Never fully adjusting to life in North London, his inability to adapt to the English game resulted in him looking sloppy, and his poor form ultimately earned George Graham, the manager who signed him, the sack in 2001. With new manager Glenn Hoddle at the helm, he was largely frozen out of the team and allowed to move out on loan until his contract ran out.
Ultimately costing Spurs over £20m, this was a costly mistake; and his record of ten goals from sixty appearances never fulfilled the intention of bridging the gap between fellow North London rivals, Arsenal.
