It was never really going to be anyone else, was it? In one of the most bizarre and extraordinary signings of the entire Premier League era, Ali Dia managed to bag a total of fifty-three minutes in his heart-stopping experience in the Premier League.

Signed by Graeme Souness for Southampton on the back of a recommendation from then-world footballer of the year, George Weah, the Scot thought he'd hit the jackpot when he bagged the Liberian international. This of course, was a complete scam, and the person on the other end of the phone was not Weah, but one of Dia's university student friends. Dia had not represented Paris Saint Germain, nor the Liberian national side, and he waltzed into the Southampton first team, coming on as a substitute for Matt Le Tissier against Leeds.

It became very apparent very quickly that Dia was not the player he claimed to be, and he was unceremoniously hauled off before the end of the game, with his contract being terminated soon after. A completely bizarre series of events, gracing the Premier League with its worst ever player.

Is there anyone I've missed? Feel free to include your suggestions in the comments below!
