25 Worst Premier League Signings Ever
22. Angel Di Maria

The most expensive signing in British football history. A massive tag line to live up to, and for a while, Angel Di Maria put in the kind of performances that prompted Manchester United to part with nearly £60m for the Argentine playmaker, and justified his inheritance of the famous number seven shirt worn by the likes of Ronaldo, Beckham, Best, and Cantona.
His downfall came with an unfortunate injury and a high profile robbery, as soon as these mental blows hit, Di Maria just wasn't the same. Lacking in confidence, and played out of position as either a winger or a striker by Louis Van Gaal, it seemed inevitable that he would be moving on to pastures new.
A return of three goals from twenty six appearances just wasn't enough to cut it at Old Trafford, and he was shipped out to Paris Saint Germain, where he is ironically enjoying a career renaissance.
