Warrior. We'd all have to concede that it wasn't the best day for either Vurn nor Jack Colback in the middle of Newcastle's midfield. Neither man got close the Swansea's pairing of Jonjo Shelvey and Jack Cork before Daryl Janmaat's dismissal, while they had to go through twice as much work after it. Nonetheless, just to see Vurn on the pitch was a positive in itself for United. The little man was stretchered off during last weekend's draw with Southampton with what looked to be a pretty severe back injury after a heavy fall. However, he was back in training half way through the week and managed to get through the full 90 minutes, displaying that new determination and industry he has found from somewhere since the last game of last season... He's the type of character United need to be building their side around.
