4 Reasons Chelsea’s Win At Man City Was So Impressive
4. Record Ending Chelsea
Chelsea's victory last night marked the end of two impressive records which City had established at fortress Etihad. The first of which was the end of City's eleven game consecutive winning streak in the Premier League. We say winning steak but we could easily have said 'systematic destruction of all which was placed in front'. Over the course of the season City's home form has been a huge factor in keeping them in touch with Arsenal. City have enjoyed victories against fellow contenders Liverpool, Man United, Tottenham & Arsenal at the Etihad this season. A visiting manager could perhaps be forgiven for becoming overwhelmed with fear and intimidation as he leads his team to the Etihad, but not Chelsea. The blues did not appear intimidated at any point in the game, even when City's kitchen sink was hurled at them in the latter stages of the game. Prior to last night City's last defeat at the Etihad was at the hands of European champions Bayern Munich. Before that it was an inexplicable end of season loss to Norwich in a game which was to all intents and purposes, worth nothing. Chelsea know the importance of a strong home record, Jose having had a phenomenal one in his previous spell at the club. Ending City's could prove massively important in the run in.
