4 Reasons Why Fraser Forster Should Play More For England
4. Club Clean Sheet Record, And Possibly More To Come
After Celtic's miserable end to the Champions league group stage, Celtic and Fraser Forster have been on fire. That fire has been blazing for more than 2 months now as Celtic have accumulated a domestic 14 game winning streak since the 6th of December. What is even more impressive is their clean sheet record, which currently stands at an all-time club high of 11 league games (12 games in all domestic competitions). Admittedly, as I've said in a previous article, this clean sheet record has been hugely helped by Celtic's defenders most of the time, in particular Virgil Van Dijk. However, when things have gotten a little sticky in games against the likes of Hibernian and Kilmarnock, Forster has been like a sleeping giant who wakes up when he's needed. Perhaps this proves that Forster can still keep up his game when it seems he is probably used to being involved in very limited action. Some keepers play at their best when they get into a 'rhythm' of saving shots, but Fraser has showed us that he can pull off world-class saves at any given time and in a game of any pace. Forster has broken a club record, and if he can keep up the clean sheets this month he could break the European record - right in time for the game against Denmark.
As a recent university graduate and a huge supporter of Celtic FC, what better way to use my inevitable free time to write about my favourite football team? I'll cover most things that the supporters are talking about at the moment, which includes things that directly and indirectly involve the club. At times I may also stray into matters concerning English clubs.
