4 Reasons Why Fraser Forster Should Play More For England
3. Champions League Performances Still Reverberate
This is the tournament that matters the most to Forster's England opportunities, the Champions League. While Celtic are out of European Competition altogether, his performances even in this seasons group games deserved plenty of praise. Forster had to guard the net in front of a defence that had not yet gelled together, so despite the horrible goal concession tally, big Fraser was helpless for most of it. It did not start off too badly though. After Celtic's 1-0 home defeat to Barcelona, Dani Alves promptly decided to start transfer speculation, suggesting that his club should be monitoring him as a replacement for Victor Valdes. This speculation was also driven by Forster's historic display against the Catalan club in the previous season, where he made countless saves against Messi and others in a gripping 2-1 home win. He's proved his worth at the highest level, and he will only do it again next time round.
As a recent university graduate and a huge supporter of Celtic FC, what better way to use my inevitable free time to write about my favourite football team? I'll cover most things that the supporters are talking about at the moment, which includes things that directly and indirectly involve the club. At times I may also stray into matters concerning English clubs.
