5 Barcelona Players Of Tomorrow (Who Are Currently Excelling At Other Clubs)
3. Jack Wilshere
Stories surrounding a potential switch to the Nou Camp for Arsenal star Wilshere surfaced just last week. Should the England international move to Spain he would follow a well-trodden path of Gunners greats that have bunked up with Barca. Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song spring to mind. That latter pair remain squad regulars and the addition of Wilshere would not be designed to threaten them. It's Barcelona metronome Xavi whose days are reportedly numbered. Wilshere would help to reinvigorate the midfield and add greater movement at quicker speed. There would also be the added bonus of his willingness to tackle, which supplemented the dark arts of Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano and Song nicely. Arsene Wenger may be reluctant to sell one of his prized assets after his recent 180 with the big money buy of Mesut Ozil. Competition for midfield places is now cut-throat at Arsenal, however, and Wilshere could be tempted by a new life in Catalonia.
