2. Sir Bobby Robson
Sir Bobby Robson is undoubtedly one of most iconic managers in world football. Loved by all, Sir Bobby enjoyed an 8 year spell as England manager. During his time in charge Sir Bobby led England to the quarter-finals of the 1986 World Cup and the semi-finals of Italia '90. The side's performance at Italia '90 is what many remember when they think of Sir Bobby's reign as manager. Blessed with many quality players, England had made it to the semi-finals. The goals of striker Gary Lineker, combined with the creative talent of Paul Gascoigne, had fans dreaming of success. However, England suffered heartache at the hands of penalties. With the scores tied at 1-1, England and West Germany competed in a penalty shoot-out for a place in the final. Stuart Pearce and Chris Waddle missed their penalties and England were out. The loss brought about the end of Sir Bobby's reign, one which could have been so different if England had held their nerve on that night in Turin.
